We’re a “wee” bit inspired by the classic tartans we’ve seen of late. From the runways to the street girls (and guys) everywhere are discovering their clan and donning tartan. From classic schoolgirl looks (a la Red Valentino) to punk (a la Moschino), there’s a tartan for everyone and a style for everyone so get ready for a Fall (Highland) Fling.
It’s been a couple of months since we left Las Vegas, and we found ourselves missing some of our favourite influencers, so we put together a fun animated gif – capturing a snippet of the personalities they shared with us on the WWDMAGIC floor. We also thought we’d check in and see what they’d been up to!
Mai of Mai Sassy Girl is back in Tokyo with her husband and adorable baby she’s back on the Tokyo party circuit and bringing us all the fashion news from Tokyo, most recently she got to hang out with our very own Chris Griffin at Tokyo Fashion Week.
Closer to home, here in Los Angeles, Jessi Jae Joplin, has been photo shooting, event hopping and working on her band “The Ruckus” – in fact just last month, music from her band was featured in WWDMAGIC brand, Iron Fist’s, Spring 2013 Lookbook video. Have a peek above and catch up with Jessi on her blog here.
Across the pond Jazmine of Jazzabelle’s Diary has been styling again – this time for the book to accompany the British TV show, Great British Sewing Bee! Great work. She also found the time to launch a new mother/daughter blog – so adorable!
Last but not least, we’re catching up with Chanelle of The Penelope Times here in Los Angeles. Chanelle has been working on a number of projects, including a trip to Coachella with WWDMAGIC buyer LuLu*s (see more here), launching her own line of beanies, working on a top secret project with WWDMAGIC brand Lovemarks and next week she’s off to rep Los Angeles in New Orleans as part of the Two Point Oh! PLUS Great American Blogger Tour as whilst keeping her online vintage store and her blog going…! Can you say busy?
A few weeks ago we headed out into the desert with some of our favorite influencers for everyone’s favorite festival – Coachella.
These bloggers weren’t just in the desert to soak up the sun, listen to bands and get very dusty – but had been sent there on a fabulous mission thanks to WWDMAGIC buyer LuLu*s. Decked out head to toe in LuLu*s goodies from all our favorite WWDMAGIC brands the girls took part in photoshoots and then soaked up the sun and listened to bands
The sartorial word on the street (and the runway) this coming season suggests we should make like Dragées (sugar coated almonds) and put on a candy coat this fall.
Whilst pastels have been historically associated with all things Spring (Easter Eggs anyone?) we’re looking forward to adding a little spring in our step and into our Fall wardrobe with a gorgeous pastel coat.
